Presentation of the book
Young, only twentyone years old, Chiara Cilli lives in Pescara since January 24th 1991. Passionate about graphic design, she has always cultivated a passion for writing an amazing topic. Her imagination was already enriched over the years through readings of gender, in particular Keri Arthur and J.R. Ward, leading up to the haunting Reign of Penthŕnweald, where you play the four episodes of the saga that Tabula Fati publishes. Her talent has led on the paper the character of Morwen, Goddess fascinating beyond mortal expectation, and made it memorable, adding to all the qualities that belong to the girls of her generation, making of her first novel even a glimpse of vices and virtues of modern teenagers.

Read the interview on Vivere in un libro.

Welcome, Chiara, in Vivere in un libro! This is my first interview and I'm a little excited!^__^ So, maybe we can start introducing yourself to the readers...
Hello everyone! My name is Chiara Cilli, I'm 21 and I live in Pescara, Italy. I'm a beautician, but currently I'm a writer full time. I'm passionate about graphic design, I love to listen to music - especially Evanescence - and I love to read paranormal romance and urban fantasy for adults.

How did you start writing?
I started writing the remake of Alien saga, and then I continued with the fan fictions about the japanese cartoons. But suddenly I decided to get serious, and here I began to tell the story of the Queen of the Underworld.

What's your favourite book?
Well, is not just one book, but a series! Keri Arthur is my favorite writer, my idol, then the books of her Riley Jenson Guardian series are absolutely and unquestionably gold for me.

Ok is another series that I will read! ^ __ ^
Do you have a place where you feel most inspired when you write?

No, I always write at home, on the sofa, on the table, on the bed ... It depends!

How did you get the idea of Morwen, Hurrichein and this incredible world?
Morwen was born from my desire to bring up a different character than usual, dark heroine, cruel and terribly fascinating, to reverse the patterns and pay tribute to all the nuances of the dark side that I love. The idea of Hurrichein stems from the fact that I practiced riding for ten years, and when I had to choose a majestic animal that was worthy to be side by side to the Heir to the throne of Underworld, I had no doubt.

How was create Morwen, beautiful and ruthless at the same time?
Oh, it was great! The way she moves, the way she talks ... it's extraordinary. Every her gesture, every her killer look... everything has a meaning. She is perfect, and she is meant to kill and to bewitch anyone who dares look at her. She exudes unimaginable power , she is ... hellish!

I must say that I loved her! She's wonderful! * __ *

What is the character of your novel that you particularly don't like and why?
I would say Ashiwar, because of his little consideration of Galadir and for the fact that he deems him an irresponsible be unworthy to be Prince of Thera.

Who do you love instead?
Who I love? Well, I love four characters! The first is Morwen, of course: I worship everything about her, the way she moves sinuously, the way she kills without the shadow of an emotion. The second is Galadir: I love everything about him, his stubbornness, his arrogance, relentless charm that buys when he smiles. The third is the mysterious Andrer: I can not say anything except that e...

Read the review on Universi Incantati.

"Already from the plot, twists and intrigue emerge: it is a complex story of secret alliances, adverse fates, and pasts kept in the dark, in which adds the inner conflict of the protagonist, constantly struggling between denying and disgusting her nature and surrender to it, between reason and instinct. Morwen is a character of contrasts, we could say "bad heroin", were it not that these two contradictory definitions contradict themselves when we see Morwen think like an ordinary person, a human being rather than beast, and sometimes fragile, and not is not always so bad, because she can also have compassion. Being a creature of the Underworld should move according to the sentiment of hate, but some of her actions prove that she is not immune to emotion "disgusting" (as she would say) which is love. The Prince Galadir is a bit the opportunity to change for Morwen; alternative to that destiny.
Galadir is similar to Morwen in several aspects, they are both stubborn, and even he seems smug self but when changes the point of view we find hidden fears and weaknesses, especially the two are united by the fact that someone else has chosen to them to their fate, but I will not add more to not give you spoilers. Galadir, however, is different because of his determination: he acts on impulse, often without thinking about the people around him (as opposed to Morwen he has a family, including sister Kamria, another major character) and seems to be so determinated that there is nothing that upsets him, not even some revelations bring him to waver.
In addition to that of Morwen and Galadir, another bond that struck me was that of Morwen and the Winged Horse Hurrichein: I liked the physical synchronization and empathy, then the attitude stern and austere of the horse, alternating with tenderness and protection, all to show how he cares about the girl (seems to act always thinking about his own good). Even Hurrichein is a strong character, his personality shows in the details of his movements.

The scenarios of various Lands of Penthŕnweald are described enough to imagine them in all their spectacular beauty, especially the place of intersection between the different Lands, where each waterfall has access to a new world; hats off to the fantasy of the author! On all, I was impressed by the originality of the Living Desert.
I can not say the same thing, however, for the prologue: the text is heavy, the descriptions are excessive (for each object there is an adjective, but just for any object!), is also difficult to include who is the subject of the action, because the fact the objects seem to come alive like if they had their own volition. I confess that this part of the text he demoralized me: we are at the beginning of the book, the part that should entice the reader, but I had to read those pages to ...

Read the interview on Terra-di-Mezzo.it

Your first novel is titled The awakening of Fire and tells the story of Morwen, unusual female characters, mysterious, cynical, cruel, dark and with evil charm. A fantasy from dark colors, therefore, in which the protagonist is not the classic chosen, ready for a mission of salvation, nor the usual doomed heroine: in the center there is a different woman, which leads to an extreme the concept of "dark fascination of evil". Why this choice?
CHIARA: The project of The Queen of the Underworld was born from the fact that I've always been fascinated by the dark side of the characters and I wanted the protagonist of my books was the incarnation of all evil variegations that leave me breathless. The awakening of the Fire, the first book of the series, recounts the meeting between the Heir to the throne of the Underworld and Prince Galadir and the unstoppable birth of their intense love. It's a book in which is not the Good to take center stage, but this woman of incredible loveliness and cruelty, determined to escape her fate but unable to breathe without the one who did win her heart. In this first volume clues emerge on the obscure past of Morwen and is most often cited the mysterious Andrer, and over the other books will increase the secrets.

This time it's not Evil the enemy to shoot down in order to affirm the Good: it becomes the protagonist of the story and the measure of all things in the novel. A relatively new element or, rather, addressed in various ways in which bad is bad from start to finish without second thoughts or late final conversions.
CHIARA: The peculiarity of my saga is that, indeed, the protagonist is not the usual fearless heroine and pure of heart, but a brutal and seductive woman who oozes evil. It's an unusual fantasy, everything revolves around this wicked and merciless creature and around her way of seducing even a glance: Morwen is cruel and fights for herself, not to save the people of Penthŕnweald. Even when it may not seem like, she is acting solely for herself and for Galadir, of course. Here, one might say that the darkness of evil reigns in this saga. I would venture to say that mine is a dark fantasy, but I couldn't draw inspiration from any book, were been the two people who I choose to impersonate Galadir and Morwen that whispered in my thoughts how to write their story, and I performed the orders!

There will be a sequel? You have several projects in progress ...
CHIARA: My future plans already count ready the saga sequel to The Queen of the Underworld, two paranormal romances and the spin-off of the three years that Morwen has spent in the Winged Horse Reign, a cross-over of the saga sequel in progress and two paranormal series in the pipeline.

Read the interview with Cogito et Volo

The fantasy is a genre that depopulates among adolescents. What is it: escapism? Feel like heroes who are not in the real world?
Exactly. It is a way to drag me away from everyday life and to give life to characters and events that swarm in my mind.

You wrote a whole fantasy saga before you turned 20. How did you get your vocation as a writer?
It started out as a hobby: I enjoyed writing the movie remake of Alien quadrilogy and fan fiction about Japanese anime, then I decided to get serious and since then I have not stopped writing even for a second.

Five buxom goddesses suggest the Winx, Morwen who speaks with the mind to her Winged Horse reminds Eragon and Saphira, the Goddess who can not fall in love with a human because fears to hurt him seems 'Edward Cullen and Bella of Twilight'. How much of other fantasy references there is in your novel?
Honestly I never noticed these similarities! I've never seen the Winx, the Winged Horse Black does not respond to Morwen - as Saphira does with Eragon - and I never thought that Edward and Morwen have something in common, given that the relationship she has with Galadir is a bit more carnal than that between the famous vampire and Bella.

In certain passages in The awakeing of the Fire we have the impression that the love story takes precedence over the story of the Land of Men. What are the keys to understanding the true story that your fertile imagination has given birth?
I started from the character of Morwen, from her absurd beauty, her cruelty, her deadly force, her ability to break lives and sow terror and fascination with one glance. Then came the Prince Galadir and from there I decided to give more space to their relationship, keeping taut the thin wire that is her past and that will remain unclear until the last book of the saga.

Morwen, the protagonist of the saga, is beautiful but violent, physically strong, but with some weaknesses. Matters most to the outer beauty or the values you believe in?
I have to answer about the realities of today, or about the world that lives in the pages written by me? (Laugh) Of course, in the first case, I would say definitely that the values count more, but in the series of The Queen of the Underworld outer beauty reigns supreme. However, there are characters, such as Protčgčs, who blindly believe in the will of their Gods and are determined to accomplish their task. The Prince Galadir strongly believes to the love that binds him to his Morwen - feeling that will intensify in the coming volumes. So, I can say that if the external beauty is a key feature of my characters, the values they believe are the same too.

Read the review on A dream of reading.

"At first glance, I was impressed by the imagination of Chiara Cilli.
The story is set in Penthŕnweald, a land inhabited by both humans and the Gods. As often happens, however, past conflicts occur between them for the power struggle. Conflicts that will forge a new Goddess, destined to rule over all, the Queen of the Underworld. The Gods, however, can not allow that to happen. For this reason, they create the Protčges, ie those who have the daunting task of defeating the Queen before she becomes - in effect - a Goddess. Morwen - heroine of the book and Queen of the Underworld - has not yet taken any decision; for now she is just 'the Heir', hiding for five years so that she can not be found by the Protčgčs. Because of a mission on behalf of the King Ashiwar, however, she will be forced out of hiding. During this mission she knows the Prince Galadir, who will accompany her in search of the Five Crystals that are needed to save Penthŕnweald from the clutches of the Goddess Lash.
Since the early chapters - that make the novel - we are witnessing the birth of an attraction between the Prince Galadir and Morwen. I find that this is a flaw because I think the author could have creating the right "waiting" and evolution of the story itself. In fact, events are shown in a very direct and this probably limits - a bit - the right interest that a reader should have when preparing to read the story. The author would have done better to leave those feelings to the back pages or from the middle of the book onwards. In this way the story would had a major evolutionary path. Besides, this is the first chapter of a saga. I think, therefore, it would been better to let the love in the end, or even the next books. Instead, these feelings appear to be the only substance of the book, which is a shame because the author has created a very original world that certainly deserves to be analyzed in detail. This is not to diminish the value of the book. I'm just saying, for my taste, I appreciate when a book manages to keep his readers in suspense until the end, until love can - eventually - triumph.
Other than that, I hope the author will can write a sequel even more exciting than the debut book."

Read the review on Vivere in un libro.

"I start by doing the compliments to the author for having given life to a story so compelling. Finally, a fantasy that has the usual features of Twilight. Nothing of young but a lot of adult and not in the sense of the word hot. We have a fantastic creature, Morwen. Strong, beautiful and sadistic. She is the Heir, the one that, if she accepts, would become the most powerful Goddess of Penthŕnweald, the Queen of the Underworld. But for now she escapes her fate as well as something else that you find as you read the book. The pages run smooth, reading doesn't interweave because it's a succession of situations and you never get bored. She is magnificent and imposing, always followed by her faithful friend Hurrichein, the only Black Winged Horse. So almost immediately she meets Galadir and the spark fires between them. Too bad he has not the slightest idea what she is. Embark on a journey through the five Lands of Penthŕnweald, they look for the Five Crystals of Lash, a powerful Goddess who seems to have decided to conquer the Land of Men, homeland of the Prince Galadir. I will not go into details of the plot, just know that it left in suspense and with the desire to learn more. Being the first of four we will see some beautiful, especially if the author keeps on these tones! Finally! No more weepy little girls! Welcome Lady of Flames! ^ __ ^ "
